Related policy: Stradsw.com Text Messaging Policy
This document describes how users consent to receive text messages from Stradsw.com, how consent is recorded, and how opt-out/help requests are handled. It is written to satisfy carrier A2P 10DLC campaign review and CTIA best practices.
1. Opt-In Channels
1.1 Web Form Opt-In
- User enters their mobile number in a form on stradsw.com (signup, checkout, or account settings).
- Adjacent to the number field, an unchecked-by-default checkbox displays the consent disclosure (Section 2).
- User checks the box and submits the form.
- System sends a confirmation text: “Stradsw.com: You’re signed up for texts. Msg freq varies. Msg&data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.”
- Consent is recorded (Section 3).
1.2 Keyword Opt-In (Text-to-Join)
- User texts a keyword (e.g.,
JOIN) to our registered number. - System replies with the consent confirmation message (same text as 1.1, step 4).
- Consent is recorded.
1.3 Point-of-Sale / Verbal Opt-In
- Staff collect the number with the consent disclosure read or displayed.
- The customer agrees explicitly.
- System sends the confirmation text; consent is recorded with source noted as POS/verbal.
Marketing/promotional messages require a separate opt-in from transactional messages. One checkbox never covers both.
2. Consent Disclosure Language
Displayed wherever a number is collected:
“By providing your mobile number and checking this box, you agree to receive text messages from Stradsw.com at the number provided. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase. See our Text Messaging Policy and Privacy Policy.”
3. Consent Records
For every opt-in we store:
| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| Phone number | +1 555 123 4567 |
| Timestamp (UTC) | 2026-09-25T14:03:11Z |
| Channel | web-form / keyword / pos |
| Disclosure version shown | v2026-09-25 |
| IP address (web) | 203.0.113.10 |
| Confirmation message ID | SMxxxx… |
Records are retained for the life of the consent plus at least 4 years after opt-out, for TCPA audit purposes.
4. Opt-Out Workflow
- User replies
STOP(orEND,CANCEL,UNSUBSCRIBE,QUIT) to any message. - System immediately flags the number as opted out — no human step required.
- One final confirmation is sent: “Stradsw.com: You are unsubscribed and will receive no further messages. Reply JOIN to re-subscribe.”
- The number is suppressed across all campaigns within the same message category; marketing opt-out never blocks legally required transactional notices.
- Re-subscription requires a fresh opt-in per Section 1.
5. HELP Workflow
- User replies
HELP(orINFO). - System replies: “Stradsw.com texts: Reply STOP to cancel. Msg&data rates may apply. Support: [email protected] | https://stradsw.com/contact“
6. Safeguards
- Double-check before send: every outbound message is checked against the suppression list at send time, not just at campaign build time.
- Quiet hours: promotional texts are sent only between 8am–9pm in the recipient’s local time zone.
- One number, one consent: consent follows the phone number, not the account; a recycled number requires new opt-in.
- No purchased lists: we never text numbers obtained from third-party lists.
7. Compliance Mapping
| Requirement | Where satisfied |
|---|---|
| TCPA prior express written consent | §1, §2, §3 |
| CTIA opt-in confirmation message | §1.1 step 4 |
| STOP/HELP keyword handling | §4, §5 |
| Consent not a condition of purchase | §2 |
| Record retention / audit trail | §3 |
